About me
Jessie Huff is currently the state energy coordinator for the Arizona USDA Rural Development Office. She has been a state energy coordinator for 9 years: three in Arizona, two in Oregon, and four in Alaska. Jessie has been focused on renewable energy development and energy efficiency education and adoption in the public sector for 14 years, ever since she returned to school for her master’s in applied resource economics at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Before focusing on energy issues, Jessie spent 13 years working in very remote and off-grid places, sometimes national parks. She has experience as a natural resources interpretive guide and a program (or experience) developer. Jessie grew up in a passive solar home and is an advocate for a long-term-systems-thinking approach to development and the building-up of the local economy and human capacity with this paradigm in mind.
