About me
Charles Layne, known as “Chuck” to friends and colleagues, currently serves as the senior technology advancement manager at Launch Tennessee, where he oversees the organization’s commercialization programs to facilitate the research and development of innovative technologies across Tennessee.
Additionally, Chuck leads the Tennessee Technology Advancement Consortium (TTAC), a strategic initiative to develop the innovation infrastructure needed for Tennessee universities to pursue technology commercialization and build the next generation of Tennessee innovators.
Before joining the team at Launch Tennessee, Chuck worked as an environmental planner and research fellow for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in community development and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the University of Memphis.
